Alright, I have decided to give myself (actually its more for my dear customers!) a blogversary present by sprucing up my blog....... but I really can't decide on whether to stick with what I have and revamp it ama I move to word press.
I like word press couz you can like respond to a comment directly..........but that's about all I know. So wenyeji, can you please tell me the pros and cons of each!
BTW one of the spelling suggestions for wenyeji is wanker! No offense!

The comment thing might be worth it.
Register yourself at wordpress do a post or two - upload photos run them concurrently for a while before you make your decision. I like wordpress for its powerful comment management and tracking - inbuilt traffic monitoring for your posts clicks and comments made on wordpress blogs. I hate it for a limited number of templates you can use on your blog - they only allow a series of templates which do not allow you to modify your CSS. Now they have an option where for about 15 dollars a year you can have your own domain name for your blog [without wordpress.com at the end] which is what i am preparing for which would open a world of opportunities for customization. Oops this is a post not a comment!
Karibu WordPress! I chose to make the move to WP coz, as you said, you can reply to a comment on the spot. You can also check the I.P. Addresses of those who post comments (so as to deal with the mischievous ones) and you can fully customize your blog according to your own tastes.
On the down side, it does take a lot of time to fully grasp the operations of WP. My advice is to open a WP blog on the side, learn how to manipulate it, then when you're comfortable with it, make the big switch. I still haven't fully mastered it, but mine is still a Work in Progress, I'll add stuff as I go along.
But don't be worried, we on WP don't look down upon anyone on Blogger, coz we all started there once upon a time. It just depends on your individual preferences.
I did the same thing last year and moved to WP.
Like Archer and Aegeus have said, try one on the side before you make the full migration to WP.
Down side for me has to be the colour choice for fonts, resizing of fonts and uploading of pics.
WP though has loads of widgets for the side bars and they keep adding stuff and new templates as the demand grows. Commenting is cool as well and quick. Annonymous comments can be deleted with ease and spammers havent got a chance with Askimet. You can also track the amount of visitors you get and who is clicking to your blog without adding any extras like in blogger.
LOL...I think I have said too much.

I've also been interested in Wordpress especially if I can get a Killer template like the one I have now. I set up one on the side but it is still inactive maybe in time I will start using it but the learning curve looks a bit steep.
Lets wait for more advice from the experts.
As with anything that gives you great flexibility, the learning curve sure is steep. But not impossible. As others before me have mentioned, get one kando to play around with before making the final move. It will do wonders.
As Aegeus has pointed out, the free wordpress does come with limitations as to what you can and cannot do with it. If you want to really get down and dirty with the nuts and bolts of your blog, then paying for your own domain and then installing wordpress is the way to go. This gives you the greatest flexibility, but also has the steepest learning curve.
I started one which has taught me a great deal, but due to other distractions I haven't worked on it as much as I'd like to.
All said, this is a great way to learn more about CSS, HTML and web design in general. But if you don't want to have to do all that, then there's plenty of us that have gone through this that would be willing to assist you, I'm sure. At least I know I would!

Either way, you need to compare the tool against whats most important for you as a blogger. Maybe by listing more of those things people would be able to give more useful advice.
Valid point Milo! The first thing you need to determine is what you want to accomplish as a blogger. Then from that will flow your needs which can then be paired to the tool that will work best for you. A good example, the reason I have not yet fully migrated to WP is because of the superior picture handling capability of blogger. Until I figure out a way to get similar capabilities in WP, blogger shall still feature.
