Facts or fund raising ploy?

Have you ever been sooo angry you want kill someone? That is me this afternoon, but I can’t kill anyone because AIDS is doing it for us. The HIV report has been released this afternoon. And would you believe it? Infection rates are actually going up. WTF? GOING UP?

Seriously people, my 6-year-old niece can recite how HIV is spread like a poem. How on earth is it possible that infection rates are going up? Has the message been drummed into out heads so much that we no longer hear it?

Apart from throwing Margaret Gachara back into jail, what else can we do? Seriously people, doesn’t the ABCD of prevention work any more? Should we re-strategize? Even in Uganda where the AIDS campaign was so successful the rates have gone up again.

AM ANGRY and so should every one be.

Or is all this a fund raising ploy? Oh come on before you jump on me, we all know the sort of reports NGO’s write to solicit money.

amazing, innit? u would think with all the education and info we have on it now, peeps would style up... here in the cities, Kenyans have the highest infection rate among immigrants, even tho we are like #5 in numbers!! But then again when u c the things that go on in @ afterparties, its no wonder!!

One could have all the information but when it comes to the real thing they leave some important details and get chewed bilaz, so its no wonder that infection rates are climbing.It is sad, yes.

As far as I know the last kenyan stats had the rates lowering. So I dont know who is right here to be honest
@ majonzi
I have heard rumours that many Kenyans in stato have HIV but I dont know how true that is because I dont go for after parties and I dont sleep with Kenyans. This calls for further research!

@ Majonzi:
Wooiye Kenyans, that is serious. WHY with all the info

@Chatterly:
This is why I say every body (men and women ) should have a condom with them all the time.

@Aco:
Can you guys give the correct figures for us?

I do strongly believe that this is NGO speak

with the way ngo's are run, i take their opinions with a large rock of salt. but it is frightening the number of mamas i know getting pregnant and dudes i know having kadhaa baby mamas. this paints a different picture of the youths' sexual habits. a report on one of the tv stations researched contraceptives and had owners of chemists state that their highest sales came from morning after pills not condoms! a true what the f***! moment. rates can be lowered drastically by being more disciplined in using condoms - all the time, if you cant abstain - not just for a bit, or today i dont have so we can just do it kavu! woi! a shag is not worth losing your life for! 11 minutes tu! then there is oral sex, much less risky, just don't stick stuff in 'the heat of the moment'. sigh. i stop here before i jack your post.
